Indiana Sherriff's Sales

My family still lives in Indiana and my dad has become very interested in Sherriff's Sales. In Indiana, they sell properties that have delinquent taxes by Sherriff's Sales. Some counties conduct their own sales, while others have third party companies handles the sales. Such is the case with the following counties:

* Blackford
* Boone
* Crawford
* Fayette
* Kosciusko
* Marshall
* Monroe
* Orange
* Parke
* Scott
* Steuben
* Tipton
* Union
* Vigo
* Warrick
* Washington

Be sure to check out SRI Inc, for details on upcoming sales for homes in those counties.

Just to clarify "Sales" in Indiana...

There are Sheriff's Sales and Tax Sales. Sheriff's Sales are limited to foreclosure properties. Tax Sale auctions are for properties (lien certificates) sold by the Treasurer's Office for delinquent taxes.

I actually did some research on just this topic for a posting to my blog - www.LivingInKokomo.com. I found useful information on the SRI website, some county websites and on the State of Indiana website.

If you visit my blog, there is a chart that compares Tax Sales and Sheriff's Sales.

There is a lot of confusion about these sales; but being in a "hot" foreclosure market the distinction is quite important!
